Improvement of Corrosion Resistance of the AZ91 Magnesium Alloys with Sputtered Aluminum Layer Using Interdiffusion Treatment, Anodic Oxidation Treatment and Sealing Process

Magnesium alloys have low corrosion resistance due to their high chemical activity. Therefore, it is necessary improve use in corrosive environments. In the present study, we aimed of AZ91 magnesium alloy NaCl solution, using aluminum sputtering deposition, anodic oxidation treatment and sealing process were examined. To evaluate rate, electrochemical experiments carried out. case just was not improved small defects deposition. However, by deposition followed interdiffusion at 553 K for more than 3 hours. Corrosion further after treatment. With this series treatments, rate samples reduced 1/360 compared that base metal. The results show treatment, are significantly effective alloy.
